* Critical Literacies and Arts-Integrated Media
Project leader: Theresa Rogers
This project explores arts and media as critical social practices supporting the lives and literacies of youth in and out of schools. Youth participate in zine production, video-making, and devised theatre in three sites: a centre for street-entrenched youth, a community anti-violence program, and a secondary school drama program. The project invites these youth to draw on a variety of discursive resources in order to express their identity positions and understandings and critiques of their lives and communities. Project participants include doctoral students Kari Winters (LLED), Mia Perry (LLED) and Anne-Marie LaMonde (CUST/LLED).
