- The Teaching, Learning and Education Technology Advisory Committee to the British Columbia Ministry of Education produced "Conditions for Success: Teaching, Learning and Education Technology" in June, 1999. The report reviews issues and makes recommendations intended to inform the province's development of policies and programs that support the successful use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the schools.
- Public Knowledge Public Forum is an experimental forum designed by the University of British Columbia's Public Knowledge Project and the British Columbia Teachers' Federation to improve participation in the policy process and increase the quality of public knowledge. The Forum will run from November 15th, 1999 to January 30th, 2000, with the results brought to the attention of the relevant bodies of the Ministry, BCTF, and the research community.
